Chairman David Amsalem of the Knesset Interior and Environmental Protection Committee said on Sunday afternoon that the committee will issue an announcement in the evening as to whether the committee will vote to send the Recommendations Law to the Knesset for its final readings.

The measure would prevent police from publicizing their recommendations on criminal cases to prosecutors. Following a request by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the law not apply to investigations focusing on him, the Zionist Union has demanded to hear Amsalem's position. Saying he did not know what kind of changes there would be in the bill, Amsalem said: "I suggest that you continue with reservations [about the bill]. If there is a change in the wording of the law, we will open [discussions on] reservations about the change."
