Former Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq claimed on Wednesday that the United Arab Emirates had barred him from leaving the country, hours after he announced he would run for president in his homeland next year.
The UAE denied Shafiq’s claims, reported the AFP news agency.
