A guard at the Auschwitz death camp has been found fit to serve his sentence despite being 96 years old. Oskar Groning was found guilty of being an accessory to the murder of 300,000 Jews but had appealed the verdict, claiming that his advanced age rendered him unable to serve his four-year sentence.
