Iranian president Hassan Rouhani spoke with Syrian president Assad by telephone and told him that his country would stand with Damascus in its struggle against terror and its efforts to restore order in the country.
Rouhani added that last week's summit in Sochi, Russia was the "right step at the right time" for Syria's future.
