The Recommendations Law will not apply to crimes of rape and sexual harassment and in such investigations police will be allowed to publish their recommendations at the end of their investigations.
MK Rahel Azaria(Kulanu) congratulated MK David Amsalem for making an exception regarding sexual crimes and explained that "it is unthinkable that public discussion should deal with protecting the suspects and not concern itself with the victims. In complaints about severe sexual attacks it is very difficult to prove guilt on the criminal level. Police recommendations will provide the complainant with confirmation that there is a basis for her claims ,even if at the end of the legal procedure it will not be possible to prove guilt."
