Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit referred at the Haifa law conference to the bills being promoted by Likud members. Mandelblit claimed that these bills change the balance between the executive and legislative arms and "disturb my peace of mind."

The Attorney-General referred in particular to bills seeking to curtail his ability to represent the government if it does not accept his legal opinion and bills to change the way attorney-generals are appointed as well as the bill to reduce the authority of the State Comptroller.
