MK Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin(Zionist Union) responded to threats by Prime Minister Netanyahu to fire Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely after her statements against US Jewry.
"Prime minister, if you wish to fire, then fire, don't fudge. I heard the prime minister is "investigating the legal possibility' of firing Hotovely over her criticisms of US Jews, so I decided to help and refer him to clause 26(3) in the basic law: government stating that a deputy minister's tenure is terminated when the prime minister, government or minister who appointed them decides to terminate their role."
Nahmias-Verbin reminded the prime minister that he himself had fired deputy minister Danon in 2014, using the same clause and concluded by saying "enough talk, let's have action Bibi."
