The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs responded to statements by Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely against American Jewry.
The ministry stated that :"The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs which is dedicated to strengthening ties between Israel and the Diaspora, sees strategic importance in the ties with Jewish communities in the Diaspora for the continued existence of the Jewish nation and the state of Israel. The state of Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people; we have a joint past, present and future with our brothers in the Diaspora and we must strengthen the trust between us and emphasize what connects us and not what separates us as well as working to strengthen ties between Israel and the Jews of the world."
