The Knesset is marking the 40th anniversary of the visit of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat with a series of programs.
The opening session was attended by Knesset Speaker Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein and Egyptian Ambassador to Israel Hazem Khairat. Edelstein hosted Khairat in his office, where they discussed increasing cooperation between the two countries in the areas of technology, energy, agriculture and security, as well as their commitment to help the peace process between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in the hope of bringing both sides to the negotiating table.
