Culture Minister Miri Regev referred this morning to the wave of criticism against President Rivlin on social media for his failure to pardon Elor Azariya.
"I condemn all incitement and racism against any person, including the President. Even so, we must understand that we can't turn every practical discussion into [accusations of] incitement. The time has come to understand that practical criticism is correct and needs to be said. It's not incitement, it's shifting [the perspective].
"The criticism of the President is practical and justified - especifically because of his unifying and official role, he should have finished this saga with a pardon. It is unfortunate that he was scared to do this," she said.
