Small tsunamis were detected in New Caledonia and Vanuatu on Monday morning (local time) after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck east of New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands, east of Australia.
Authorities in Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii said there were no tsunami threats to the coastlines of those countries. So far, there have been reports of injuries or damages as a result of the earthquakes and the tsunamis.
