Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel Yitzchak Yosef is warning of missionary materials being distributed in Israel, in light of information he received from the Yad L'Achim anti-missionary organization.
A letter distributed by the head of Rabbi Yosef's office warns about compact disks and computer disks that contain the materials. Yad L'Achim organization said that missionaries are constantly working in Israel "and from the many contacts we have received, we see that this worrisome phenomenon continues throughout the country." It cited Rabbi Yosef for the way he is handling the matter and noted that it was an important subject for his late father Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.
