At the request of Member of Knesset Yisrael Eichler (United Torah Judaism), the Knesset has told the Health Committee to revive the Matanat Haim kidney-donation organization and prevent a situation like the one that developed two months ago, when Matanat Haim Chairman, Rabbi Yeshayahu Haber was arrested on suspicion of promoting transplants in exchange for monetary donations.
Haber was just allowed to resume his activities in the organization, which has played a part in 480 kidney donations, but has suffered from a loss of kidney and monetary donations since the case came up.
