Member of Knesset Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid) has submitted a bill that seeks to toughen the punishment for violence against education and teaching personnel.
Responding to the firing of an air pistol at a teacher in Ashdod, Razvozov said, ""It is inconceivable that the phenomenon of violence against teachers is only intensifying and getting worse. The teacher's attack in Ashdod could have been avoided if the law enforcement system would not have treated it as a prank, but rather a severe attack. If the attacking students were severely punished, no one would repeat this act. They must not be heroes to their friends." He concluded, "That is why we have submitted a bill to toughen the punishment against teachers, and that is why it is important to pass it as soon as possible. We must not reach the day when a teacher is murdered."
