Fireman Gal Muati, a resident of the Binyamin town of Kochav Yaakov, prevented a murderous attack Thursday morning when returning to his house from the Ofra fire station.
Muati said on Channel 10 that he saw an Arab moving suspiciously, so he drew his car nearby and asked what the Arab was doing.
"He began to say all kinds of things and to scream 'Palestine' and my suspicion was aroused so I got out the car and called police. He felt pressured and started running away but refused to throw away his bag. I cocked my gun and he threw the bag aside. Another resident arrived and saw me with a weapon. He checked the bag and found two new knives inside. I pushed the Palestinian to the wall and overcame him with the other civilian. We then realized that he had gone for a stabbing spree."
