    Environment ministry fines chemical company 2.2M NIS

    Carmel Olefins Ltd. a manufacturer of petrochemical products that are used as raw materials for the plastics industry, has been fined 2,174,604 NIS by the Environment Ministry and ordered to pay within 30 days after a serious of serious issues occurred during Sept.-Oct. 2016. The ministry even opened a  criminal investigation into Carmel Olefins and its directors over the wrongful use of company equipment.

    The ministry placed a lien on company assets due to violation of emission levels, failure reporting of incidents which led to the temporary closure of the facility and failure to submit a plan to establish an auditing and early warning system.
