MK Eitan Broshi (Zionist Union) criticized the government on Wednesday evening following the approval of the JNF Law in the Knesset Finance Committee.
"The Knesset Finance Committee completed tonight the government's move to liquidate the Jewish National Fund and ended an important chapter in the history of the Jewish people and the State of Israel," Broshi said, despite the fact that the version of the law that was approved was considered to be far softer than the original law.
"The JNF has had great importance since its establishment and to this day. Without the JNF, the state would look different. The government has now liquidated large investments in the periphery, rural areas and agriculture," he explained. "The JNF has lost its independence and its ability to be a significant factor in the State of Israel."
