Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit participated Tuesday in a conference organized by the Israeli Bar Association marking the departure of Chief Justice Miriam Naor.
Mandelblit referred to a number of laws passed recently and said that he had expressed his opposition to numerous proposed laws which he felt would harm fundamental principles of justice but many of the laws were passed anyway.
Mandelblit claimed that the laws seek to change "the delicate balance between different governing bodies and therefore must be dealt with carefully in order not to harm the rule of law."
