A near-accident occurred during a parachuting exercise which took place in the south, when a military airplane flew in the dropping area of the paratroopers just as they were jumping from their plane and opening their parachutes.
The plane flew at 2000 feet just as 8 paratroopers were opening their parachutes and passed under them.
The Transportation Ministry reported that the unusual incident occurred due to a miscommunication between the military airplane and the control tower at the Hatzerim air force base.
