An agreement was signed in Beijing on Tuesday for mutual recognition of the Israeli Customs "authorized economic operator" program and the parallel program operated by the Customs Authority in China.
According to the agreement, Israeli approved operators - including exporters, importers, customs agents, international shipping agents, sea ports, logistics terminals and other factors in the supply chain - will facilitate the entry of goods and the release of goods in China and approved operators in the Chinese program will receive similar concessions in the entry and release of goods in Israel. The agreement with China is the fifth bilateral agreement signed by Israel under the program, the previous agreements having been signed with the United States, South Korea, Canada and Taiwan.
