The government is holding a special meeting this morning to approve legislation requiring the Keren Kayemet Leyisrael (Jewish National Fund) to transfer 80 percent of its annual revenues to the state budget.

If the JNF refuses, it will have to give up its blanket exemption from taxation. The Finance Ministry explains that the JNF is not living up to agreements, according to which it will transfer NIS 2 billion to the state budget in the next two years. The Knesset Finance Committee will also convene to discuss a law on taxation of the JNF.
