    New yeshiva in Russia's largest Muslim republic

    The Jewish community in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, the largest Muslim republic in Russia, will celebrate the inauguration of a new yeshiva tomorrow in the center of the the city's central synagogue.

    The establishment of the yeshiva is a milestone in the development of the Jewish community in Kazan. Local activists say that it will provide leverage for a wealth of programs related to the study and distribution of Torah and Hasidut for all ages and levels, from classes for beginners to yeshiva studies, led by the city's rabbi and Chabad emissary Rabbi Yitzhak Gorelik.
