A proposal by Chairman David Amsalem of the Knesset Interior and Environmental Protection Committee to regulate competition in the health-fund market has been endorsed by the Ministerial Committee on Legislation.
The bill forbids the "purchase" and "theft" of doctors for the first time, as well as the "purchase" of health-maintenance-organization members and the aggressive and wasteful marketing of the HMOs, as is customary today.
