The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has endorsed a bill by Member of Knesset Sharren Haskel (Likud) to open the communications market.
The proposal is intended to ease the heavy regulation that currently applies to audience-specific cable and satellite Channels 9 and 24 and the Hala channel in Arabic, and allow them greater freedom in advertising and in the variety of content they broadcast.
