A resident of Gan Yair sued his local council and school over a football injury he sustained in fourth grade - 20 years after the event.
The man claimed that he lost a tooth and broke three other teeth after falling on a waterpipe which protruded on the ground of his school. Pictures of the offending pipe were brought before the judges.
Despite the school's claim that the pipe was not hazardous, the suit was brought too long after the event and that they could not watch over children at all times, the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court ruled that the claimant had brought enough proof to support his claim and determined compensation of 105,000 NIS for the claimant.
