Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri resigned on Saturday claiming he feared a threat to his life.

Speaking in a televised broadcast, al-Harari slammed Iran and Hezbollah.

"We are living in a climate similar to the atmosphere that prevailed before the assassination of martyr Rafik al-Hariri. I have sensed what is being plotted covertly to target my life," al-Harari said.

Rafik al-Hariri, Saad's father, was assassinated in 2005.
