The UN committee on Palestinian rights discussed the "repercussions of the Balfour declaration on the Palestinian people."
Rashid Halidi, a Colombia university professor who is a former PLO advisor and supports the BDS movement, said that the Balfour Declaration was a "pistol aimed at the head" for the Palestinians, a "declaration of war by the British empire against the native populace in the land promised to the Jews."
Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon responded by saying that "it's time you learned history and internalized that the state of the Jewish nation will continue to thrive in the land of Israel."
