Middle East expert Dr. David Bukai referred to the refusal of Supreme Court Judge George Karra to sing the national anthem during the inauguration ceremony for Chief Justice Esther Hayut.
Bukei said that singing the anthem has nothing to do with a person's nationality and it obligates every public servant as an expression of faith in his country, adding that "If a judge cannot sing the anthem,let him find another country,"
Bukai also said that he was uncertain about the rulings of such a judge being in consonance with Israel's Jewish character.
