Rabbi Yigal Rosen, head of the Ohr Yisrael yeshiva and brother of Rabbi Yisrael Rosen, eulogized his brother: "I am pained for you, my brother, you were very pleasant to me. We grew up with the same education and went the same route until 18. Since then we went in too different directions but both had their roots. Yisrael my brother, you went in our father's footsteps. We had many differences but never an argument and this was in his merit."
Rabbi Rosen added that "Yisrael was not just a Torah scholar. He knew how to solve technological problems in accordance with halakha and not the opposite. He wanted to protect religion from technology. There is no hospital or public institution which does not contain solutions from the Tzomet institute. Thousands of Shabbat desecrations were prevented by him."
