Chairman Hananel Dorani of the Kedumim Regional Council announced Thursday night that he would run against Karnei Shomron Council head Yigal Lahav to be head of the Yesha Council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, following pressure from several local council heads.

The head of the Efrat council and head of the Yesha Council's foreign affairs desk, Oded Ravivi, who was considered the leading candidate to succeed Avi Roeh, said this morning that he is not a candidate for the post and wished Dorani success. Secretary-General Ze'ev (Zambish) Hever of the Amana housing movement also rejected a proposal to run for the job.
