The Jordanian minister of information said on Thursday that his country would not open the Israeli embassy in Amman until the security guard who shot two Jordanian citizens to death in July is tried.
He added that according to all international standards, the guard should be tried and severely punished. On Wednesday, Channel 2 online reported that the Shabak Israel Security Agency has determined that the guard acted in self defense and should not stand trial. It said Jordan was demanding that Ambassador Einat Schlein be replaced for having her picture taken with the guard when they returned to Israel.
