Director Amos Yadlin of the Institute for National Security Studies said on Thursday that an attack on an arms factory in Syria, attributed to Israel, sends a number of messages.

Writing on the Twitter social network, the retired head of militari intelligence wrote in Hebrew:
"1. An Israeli attack, according to foreign sources, in Syria proves that Israel insists on its red lines against Iran and Hezbollah in Syria.

2. The attack is a resounding message as [Russian President Vladimir] Putin visits Tehran and [Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah meets with the deputy head of Hamas.

3. When Israel is acting against the strengthening of its enemies in the north and south, simultaneously, it is certain that it has the ability to control the escalation on both fronts."
