Activists are fuming after the Jerusalem Municipality forced a Jerusalem hotel to remove a billboard commemorating the death of far-right leader Rabbi Meir Kahane.

The billboards were paid for by the Otzma Yehudit political party and were hung from the Jerusalem Gate Hotel, which stands prominently alongside Jerusalem's main thoroughfare. The municipality ordered the billboards removed after Zionist Union MK Ksenia Svetlova appealed to the city, arguing that the advertisements promoted racism.

Attorney Itamar Ben Gvir and former MK Michael Ben-Ari said that they will file a NIS 500,000 lawsuit against the hotel for reneging on a signed contract.
