Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said yesterday to former Knesset members who were in his office that the Palestinian unity government would not appoint Hamas ministers who would not recognize the existence of the State of Israel openly and publicly, Ha'aretz reported.
Former Labor chairman Amram Mitzna, who was present at the meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, told the newspaper that the PA chairman said that "the Americans assured him that very soon they would announce their support for the idea of two states."
