Chairman Jibril Rajoub of the Palestinian Authority Football Association has strongly criticized soccer's world governing body FIFA's decision last Friday, not to take action against Israel for fielding teams beyond the 1949 Armistice Line and allegedly blocking the movement of players between Judea and Samaria and Gaza.
He told a news conference "FIFA president Gianni Infantino has succumbed to the pressure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the pressure exerted on him by Israeli officials," adding, "The president of FIFA wanted to procrastinate and not make a difficult decision, but he received threats from Benjamin Netanyahu." Rajoub said he intended to file a complaint with CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, backed up with documents attesting to threats and Israel's intervention in the FIFA decision.
