Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein met on Tuesday with outgoing President Malu Dreyer of the Bundesrat, who arrived in the country with a delegation of parliamentarians from the upper house of the German parliament, and discussed the strengthening of relations between Israel and Germany.
The Bundesrat represents the 16 states that make up Germany at the federal level. The presidency is considered the fourth most important post in Germany after the German president, the chairman of the Bundestag and the chancellor. Dreyer's term is scheduled to end at the end of the month. She will be succeeded by Michael Müller.
