A new poll published today by the Anti-Defamation League reveals that most Israelis believe that Israeli society is divided and will remain so in 30 years, on the occasion of Israel's 100th birthday. The survey, conducted by the Maagar Mochot (Brain Base) research institute shows that a decisive majority of the Israeli public (64 percent) thinks that Israeli society today is divided to a very divided level. Only seven percent believe that Israeli society is now cohesive.

Seventy-five percent of the respondents said that the political leadership contributes to the split. In second place, respondents cited the traditional media - radio, newspapers, television (73 percent). In third and fourth places, respondents mentioned rabbis and the religious establishment, and the new media - Facebook, Internet, Twitter, and more (67 percent each). The judiciary was also at the forefront of the factors contributing to the split in Israeli society (42 percent).
