Labor party leader Avi Gabbay has been criticized by some of his party colleagues for stating that even in the event of a diplomatic agreement it would not be right to dismantle communities. In an Arutz Sheva interview MK Eytan Broshi discussed the internal disputes.
Broshi contended that Israel must decide whether it wants "one state in which there are no compromises or a compromise which could ensure the continuation of Zionism in a Jewish and democratic state. I believe this decision should come in a referendum as it is a bipartisan issue. Many on the right also want to see a Jewish and democratic state."
Broshi added that only after such a decision is taken would the future of communities be discussed and added that "maybe they will stay and maybe they won't."
