The Research and Planning Directorate of the National Insurance Institute(NII) published data regarding wage levels by location.
The data revealed that out of the large towns, Jerusalem suffers from the lowest average wages, 82.1% of the gross average wage, while Ashdod, Beersheva, Netanya employees received 89.7%, 92.9% and 93.3% of gross average wages. In Haifa, Petah Tikva, Rishon Letzion and Tel Aviv, employees earned more than 100% of gross average wages, with 16.1% of Tel Aviv residents earning more than double the gross average wage, as opposed to 6% of Jerusalemites and 7.4% of Ashdod residents.
69.9% of employees earned less than the average wage and 30.8% earned less than minimum wages.
