Police arrested members of the Peleg Yerushalayim haredi faction who held disorderly demonstrations in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak on the orders of their spiritual leader, Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, after a military judge sentenced two yeshiva students who were identified with the faction to 20 days of detention for failure to report to the Israel Defense Forces for induction.

The Jerusalem protest included the temporary blocking of the light rail at the intersection of Yafo (Jaffa) and Sarei Yisrael Streets. the Bnei Brak demonstration took place on the border with Ramat Gan and in Beit Shemesh a few dozen haredim demonstrated and some blocked River Jordan Street.
