Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has congratulated Austrian Chancellor-elect Sebastian Kurtz on his victory in Sunday's elections. In a Monday-evening telephone call, Netanyahu said that in recent years Austria has made a great deal of progress in preserving the memory of the Holocaust and in its war against anti-Semitism. He also invited him to visit Israel and was answered in the affirmative.
Kurtz thanked the prime minister and said that he is interested in fostering friendship and ties with Israel.
