A young man who served as a cook in the IDF suffered a severe bout of dysentery during his army service. The man began to suffer from a number of digestive problems in the wake of his dysentery and requested that he be recognized as a disabled army veteran due to his health problems.

The IDF rejected his request, but after he petitioned an appellate court, the court accepted the expert opinions he submitted and ordered the IDF to compensate him for his health problems.
