Next week, the State Prosecutor's Office is expected to indict an extreme right-wing activist, now 29 years old, who attacked a religious Jew in on his way home from a synagogue in Zurich two years ago. According to local reports, the state prosecutor has demanded a suspended sentence of 7-8 months.

The defendant was allegedly the leader of a group of about 20 neo-Nazis who stood up and called anti-Semitic slogans at the victim, and made a Nazi salute. He is accused of pushing the victim and spitting in his face in violation of laws against racism and violence. The extremist denies the acts, but was identified by the victim. Another defendant pleaded guilty to abusive-language charges and was to be fined.
