Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on Sunday that it is "only the United States" which does not allow the Islamic State terror movement in Syria "to be totally annihilated."
Speaking at a memorial ceremony for two commanders killed fighting IS in Syria last week, he said "The US Air Force does not allow the Syrian army and resistance groups to advance toward positions occupied by IS," emphasizing that IS would return to all areas it had lost if the fight against the group stopped, because ISIS was like a malignant cancer, which must be uprooted. Nasrallah said that the US was helping IS through its base in the Syrian city of Raqqah and through a training base it runs near Syria’s border with Jordan.
