A customer discovered a dead venemous viper on Monday in a package of Tnuva Lachish lettuce at a branch of Supersol (Shufesal) Deal in Ashkelon.
It is the third such incident involving the chain in recent years, the other two involving living snakes. Supersol said it was working to prevent another repetition. While the snake could have snuck in during packaging, Tnuvot Lachish believes it happened during shipping.
