Nabil Abu-Rudeina, the spokesman of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Sunday that Abbas would deliver an "important" speech on Wednesday to the United Nations General Assembly, "which will define the characteristics of the next stage."

Abu-Rudeina added that Abbas would present the PA-Arab position that calls for the establishment of a PA state within the 1967 borders and the Palestinian Authority's greatest political achievement in 2012 when the General Assembly accepted "Palestine" within the 1967 borders and its capital Jerusalem as a non-member state. He reiterated the PA's opposition to a temporary state, a separate state in Gaza, a state with no borders and expanded autonomy.
