The Hamodia newspaper claimed Sunday that despite declarations that work would not take place on railroad infrastructure on Shabbat and festivals until after the High Holiday period, work did in fact take place on the fast train track to Jerusalem.
Health Minister Yaakov Litzman protested the desecration of the Shabbat but targeted the 'supervisors' of Israel Railways and not Prime Minister Netanyahu. Litzman demanded that the Shabbat work be stopped immediately since 'there is no need for it.'
