A woman who underwent an operation twenty years ago in which her appendix was removed without her knowledge and without her parents understanding what they were signing for, demanded compensation for the operation, which she said was unnecessary.
The judge ruled in favor of the woman, stating that the state had not brought testimony from doctors who performed the operation and it was not clear whether the parents had received an explanation for the operation. Compensation was set at 43,000 NIS.
