Supreme Court: Businesses can say they keep kosher

The Supreme Court ruled that food businesses can present themselves as supervised even if they do not have a certificate from the Israeli chief rabbinate.

Many businesses claim to be kosher but do not want to be involved in the certification process. The court ruled that these businesses cannot describe themselves as "kosher" but can say that they maintain the standards of kashrut even though they do not hold a certificate.
