A military court has imposed a two-year sentence on a sergeant major who was convicted last April as part of a plea bargain for rape and carrying out an indecent act against a female soldier in his unit in 2015.
In addition to the imprisonment, the soldier was put on probation after his release, ordered to pay compensation to the victim, and was demoted to private.
